What Instagram posts can I submit?
Public Instagram Reel and Post URLs that are accessible without private-account approval. Private, deleted, age-restricted, unsupported, or temporarily unavailable media may not be retrievable.
What happens with video?
Clear reads the accessible caption, frames, audio, and speech together where available. A long video or carousel may require more work units because it contains more media to inspect.
What claims does Clear check?
Clear isolates a central, externally verifiable factual claim. It separates factual assertions from jokes, pure opinion, predictions, and posts that do not need a fact-check.
What do the five verdicts mean?
Supported means credible evidence materially supports the claim. Misleading means a kernel of truth lacks important context. False means credible evidence materially contradicts it. Unverified means the evidence is insufficient. Opinion means it is not really a factual claim.
What does confidence mean?
It estimates how strongly the available evidence and analysis support Clear's classification. It is not the probability that a creator is honest, and it is not a substitute for reading the sources.
How does Clear choose sources?
It prefers relevant primary, official, peer-reviewed, and high-quality sources, checks recency where the claim can change, and looks for meaningful contradiction. Source availability varies by topic.
Can Clear handle politics and current events?
It can attempt them, but fast-changing claims require extra caution. Clear should use current primary records and reputable reporting and will use Unverified when reliable confirmation is not available.
Can I use Clear for health or financial decisions?
Use it as a starting point only. Clear is not medical, financial, legal, employment, or safety advice. High-stakes decisions need the original evidence and an appropriately qualified professional.
Which languages work?
Clear may process media in several languages when transcription and model support are available, but English and clearly spoken or written content are generally more reliable. Unsupported or ambiguous language may fail or receive an uncertain result.
Do I need an account and credits?
Yes for fresh analysis. Sign in, choose a one-time credit pack, and your results are saved in private history. Existing published research is free for anyone to read.
What happens when a check fails?
Failed checks and posts with no checkable claim are returned to the user balance. Provider work can still be recorded internally so Clear can monitor operating cost and reliability.
What do paid credits buy?
Only additional fresh analysis. Credits never buy a preferred verdict, source, confidence, publication decision, queue priority, or correction result. Current packs and status appear on Pricing.
Can I cancel or request a refund?
Credit packs are one-time purchases, not recurring subscriptions. The Refunds & Cancellation Policy covers duplicate charges, missing delivery, wholly unused packs requested within seven days, used credits, and processing steps.
Is my identity public?
No. Account history and submitter identity are private by default. You may deliberately enable public investigator attribution in Account settings; only then may eligible research you initiate show your current name and profile photo. Your email is never shown through that feature.
Why are some results public?
Permanent result links make evidence inspectable and correctable. Only eligible, adequately sourced factual observations are intentionally included in the public archive and sitemap.
Can a published result be corrected or removed?
Yes. Use Corrections & Rights with the result URL and supporting information. Clear can revise, version, de-index, or remove an analysis while retaining limited audit records where necessary.
Does Clear rate or punish creators?
No. Clear evaluates a submitted claim, not the person or account. Creator reputation scores, public comments, pile-ons, and user leaderboards are not part of Clear's core service.
Are payments live?
The packs and policies are published, but checkout is not accepting payments yet. Clear will enable it only after Razorpay verification, webhook, refund, and reconciliation checks pass.
